From 2023-2025, the Haunted Art Show opened on First Friday of October at RALA in Knoxville’s Old City. The month-long exhibition featured about 40 pieces by local artists each fall. As many pieces as possible were accepted to fill the wall in a maximalist Victorian gallery style.

It was a festive gallery opening to get the public in the mood for Halloween and to healthily cope with the tragedy of the pandemic years. The show was not only a great photo-op for social media, but also a free sort of haunted house event for all ages. Free fun-size candies were given from a spooky silver cauldron.

As show curator and one of the exhibiting artists, Sitver dressed as the Ghost Host year after year, welcoming gallery patrons, scaring people, and even haunting the local news station. In 2025, the Ghost Host even led a group of ghosts on a gallery crawl of Knoxville’s First Friday. All works were for sale, with over a 25% sell through rate 3 years running. Year after year, the HAS was the most popular show at RALA, drawing in the most crowds and sales of any of the gallery’s recent exhibitions.
